Alexandra Maria Lara, a Romanian and German actor who is employed on TV and in films is most well-known for her roles in films such as Rush as well as Downfall Youth Without Youth Control. Alexandra was the sole child of Romanian actor Valentin Platareu. At the age of 16, she had already been offered a variety of television roles which included the leading role in the Downfall film Youth Without Youth Control. Her acclaimed and critically acclaimed performance in the television film made for TV Der Tunnel paved way for many other noteworthy roles, including the role in the role of Hitler's Secretary Traudl Junge from the commercially and critically profitable Oscar nominated historical war film Downfall. Additional Oscar nominees featuring the female diva include The Reader and Der Baader Meinhof Komplex. Alexandra has worked on various notable films, in both the US and abroad. For instance, the British biographical movie Control, the Greek film The Dust of Time, and French historic mini-series Napoleon are among these. Furthermore, she was one of the members of both Cannes Film Festival jury and Transylvania International Film Festival.
